Obituary

Wellersburg, PA – David Clair Shumaker Sr., 73, of Wellersburg went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at his residence.
Born October 9, 1942 in Meyersdale; he was a son of the late John and Madeline (Hillegas) Shumaker. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Shumaker.
Survived by his wife of 54 years, Sandra J. (McKenzie) Shumaker, whom he married March 29, 1961; a daughter, Vicky J. Glass and husband Rick of Wellersburg; a son, David C. Shumaker Jr. and wife Paula of Imler, sisters, Ella Sicheri and Janet Mankamyer both of Somerset; and six grandchildren.
Dave was a 1960 graduate of Meyersdale High School. He served in the US Army from 1960 to 1963. He was a truck driver and later worked at CSX for many years. He was a member of the Chapter T Goldwing Club and enjoyed traveling and riding his Goldwing with his wife Sandy.
Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Inc., 169 Clarence Street, Hyndman on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Ken Korns officiating.
Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Lutheran Church Cemetery, Meyersdale with Military Honors by the Cumberland Post 13 Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the funeral home to help defer expenses for the family.
