Obituary

Hyndman, PA – David R. Emerick, 62, of Hyndman, died Sunday, November 22, 2015, at WMHS Regional Medical Center surrounded by his family.
Born August 4, 1953 in Cumberland; he was a son of the late James and Alma (Dermer) Emerick.
Survived by his wife of 41 years, Barbara (Reagan) Emerick, whom he married May 11, 1974; sons, Jamie Emerick and wife Sonia of Ft. Ashby, WV, Jason Emerick of Hyndman,; four grandchildren, Drew, Brendon, Jaxon and Isabella Emerick, a brother, Dennis Emerick and wife Susan of Palm Coast, FL; sister, Diane Emerick of Hyndman and several nieces and nephews.
Dave served as a Seabee in the US Naval Reserves. He was a machine operator at Stroehman’s Bakery, and later worked at C. Ferri Contracting and Glenn Johnston Contracting where he was a pipelayer and foreman.
He was a member of the Kennells Mill Sportsmen’s Club, the Barrellville Outdoors Club, the Local Bakers and Confectioners Union as well as the Local Steelworkers Union.
Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Inc., 169 Clarence Street, Hyndman on Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11 a.m.
Burial at Restlawn Memorial Garden, LaVale, MD.
