Manns Choice, PA – Delores M. Auker, 86, of Manns Choice, passed away March 7, 2022 at ProMedica Nursing and Rehab.

Born April 27, 1935 in Johnstown; she was a daughter of the late William and Susan (Kocher) Brown. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. Girod in 1972; brothers, Ken and Ray Brown, infant brother, Lloyd Brown, and sister, Norma Satzer. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Survived by her husband of 43, years, Albert William “Bill” Auker, whom she married July 29, 1978;  children, Frank Girod and wife Jennifer of Virginia Beach, VA, Lori Lewis and husband Phil of Manns Choice, Jeannette Holler and Mike Anderson of New Paris, stepchildren, Tina Crissey and husband Roger of Bedford, Jodi Sindelar of Erie, Douglas Auker and wife Missy of Bedford, Keith Auker and wife Connie of Schellsburg, Kevin Auker and wife Kim of Tokyo, Japan; grandchildren, Courtney, Graham, Leah, Richard, Justina, Keegan, Morgan, Braedon, Kendall, Kaitlyn, Matthew, Robert, Max, Samuel, and Kevin; two great grandchildren, Willow and Noah; nieces, Susan, Jean, Jo and Suzanne; and many other loved ones.

Delores was a graduate of Hyndman High School and received a BS in Education from Frostburg State. She was a teacher at Northeast Elementary School, LaVale, MD for several years and then worked as a greeter and clerk at Walmart, until retiring to become a full-time homemaker. She attended Manns Choice United Methodist Church. She loved her grandchildren and gave her heart out to her family. She enjoyed watching birds and other wildlife on her farm, where she resided the majority of her life.

Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Inc., 169 Clarence Street, Hyndman on Friday from 1 to 2 p.m. where a funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. with Pastor James Golla, officiating.

Burial at Hyndman Cemetery.
