Hyndman, PA – DeVon Ray Coughenour, 89, of Hyndman, went to be with the Lord Thursday December 8, 2022 at Peace Healthcare at Lions Center.

Born September 3, 1933, in Hyndman, PA; he was a son of the late Russell and Effie Avalyne (Miller) Coughenour. He was also preceded in death  by his wife, Joan May (Shaffer) Coughenour,  a brother, Edward Coughenour.

Survived by children, Michael Coughenour and wife Deanna, Hyndman, Deborah Daugherty and husband Richard “Doc”, Ridgeley, WV; DeVon Royce Coughenour and wife Angela, Hyndman; 8 grandchildren, Chance M. Coughenour and wife, Carol, Blake M. Coughenour and wife Shijie, Zeb M. Coughenour and wife Jacqueline, Whitney M. Patterson and husband Ryan, Devin Rae Canby and husband Cody, Amanda Haney and husband Phillip, Jacob R. Coughenour and Daniel R. Coughenour; three great grandchildren, Lumen and Radian Coughenour, Kinsley Canby; and several nieces and nephews.

Ray served in the US Army during Korea. Ray ran Cougnhenour Real Estate Broker and Appraisals. He sold life insurance for Prudential and received many sales awards over the years. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church where served as superintendent and a Sunday school teacher. He was also a member of the Hyndman-Londonderry Lions Club and the Hyndman Masonic Lodge 589 F&AM After retirement Ray and Joan enjoyed traveling in their motor home across the United States.

Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Inc., 169 Clarence Street, Hyndman on Tuesday December 20, 2022 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Rodney Spiker officiating.

Burial at Hyndman Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made Grace United Methodist Church, 222 Schellsburg St., Hyndman, PA 15545.
