Hyndman, PA – Donald H. Stuby, 63, of Hyndman died March 6, 2019, at his home

Born May 15, 1955 in Cumberland; he was a son of the late Harold and Doris (Pfitzenmayer) Stuby. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Terry Stuby, Grandparents, Phoebe and Richard Stuby.

Don took on the role of Dad to 3 girls when he married their mother. He is survived by daughters, Lori Diehl and husband Justin, Bedford, Cheri Moskey and husband Ken, Buffalo Mills, Lois Strayer and husband Adam, Manns Choice; brother, Stanley Clayton and wife Cathy of Winchester, VA, grandchildren, McKenna, Skyler, Cye, Aleah, Paysley and Peyton, nephew, Tim Stuby and wife Erica, Martinsburg, WV; uncle, Edward Pfitzenmayer and his children Gary and Nicole; special friends, Kim Stiffler, Brad Smith, Jody and Dimmie Lehman, Sandy and Brian LaComb, Ruth Burkett, Junior Beals, Danny Kennell, Bob and Tina Campbell, Bob and Christina Snyder, Billy Swift, Butch; and his faithful feline Sally Sue.

Don was a Union Concrete Finisher for over 40 years. Over the years he worked for New Enterprise Stone and Lime, Carl Belt and Kokosing Inc. After graduating from Mount Savage High in 1973, he moved to Houston, TX where he was a cook for many years before returning to his hometown of Ellerslie, MD. He was an avid Steelers fan, enjoyed mushroom hunting, fishing, gardening, canning, wine making, and riding his Harley Davidson. He had a passion for cooking and grilling, and enjoyed having people visit so he could cook for them. He was a member of Kennells Mill Sportsmen’s Club and Ellerslie Outdoor Club. One of his favorite past times was having coffee with his girls. He was very patriotic and showed true appreciation for the American Flag.

Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Inc., 169 Clarence Street, Hyndman on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. where a funeral service will follow at 5 p.m. with Pastor Terry Elliott officiating.

Burial will be Saturday March 16, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Madley Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the funeral home to help defer expenses.
