Ellerslie, MD – Donald W. Lowery, 82, of Ellerslie went to be with the Lord Saturday August 8, 2015 at WMHS Regional Medical Center

Born November 21, 1932 in Hyndman; he was a son of the late Orvil and Alice (Campbell) Lowery.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jo Ann (Pfitzenmayer) Lowery, whom he married April 4, 1954; sons, Ronald Lowery and wife Kimberly of Mount Savage, Michael Lowery of Ellerslie; a daughter De Ann Kennell and husband David of Grantsville, MD; a brother Twain Lowery and wife Judy of Corriganville, four grandchildren, Sean Lowery, Mathew Lowery and wife Nichole, Samantha and Levi Kennell; a great granddaughter, Olivia Lowery.

Mr. Lowery Served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. He had worked at the Queen City Brewing Company and was also a Salesman for John Morrell and Company. He attended Calvary Bible Church and was also a member of the Ellerslie Outdoor Club, Barrellville Sportsmen’s Club, Kennells Mill Sportsmen’s Club, Black Hill Sportsmen’s club and the Sandy Crossing Sportsmen’s club. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also loved to cook.

Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Inc., 169 Clarence Street, Hyndman on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Greg Miller officiating.

Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens, LaVale, with Military Honors by the Cumberland Post 13 Honor Guard.

The family would like to thank the WMHS Dialysis Unit, valet parking staff and, as well as Dr. Welik and his staff for the care they gave Mr. Lowery over the last several years.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Ellerslie Rescue Squad.
