Hyndman, PA – Dr. Daniel W. Fasnacht, 91, of Hyndman, formerly of Libertyville and Antioch, Illinois, died May 27, 2020 at the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home.

Born September 13, 1928 in Annville, PA; the son of the late Allen and Myrtle (Hoover) Fasnacht. He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Elliott Fasnacht, sister, JoAnna Zimmerman; brother, Robert Fasnacht.

Survived by his wife of 65 years, Dorothy (Dipper) Fasnacht, whom he married June 12, 1954; sons, Thomas Lee Fasnacht and wife Susan of Jacksonville, OR, Timothy Lee Fasnacht and wife Diane of The Woodlands, TX, James Lee Fasnacht and wife Jean of Twin Lakes, WI; daughters, Cynthia Lee McKay and husband Martin of Lake Stevens, WA;  Valeria Lee Fasnacht  and wife Cathy of Canonsburg, PA; sisters, Doloris Wolfe, Shirley Hoerner and Judy Barchet all of Annville; also 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

He served in the US Army two different times, once during WWII and then again during the Korean Conflict. He was a graduate of Lebanon Valley College and the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Fasnacht owned and operated Lindenhurst Animal Hospital in Lindenhurst, IL for many years.

Retiring in 1991 Dan and Dottie moved to Hyndman. Dr. Fasnacht was very civic minded and active in many clubs and organizations. He served as Mayor of Hyndman and on the board of directors for the Hyndman Area Health Center.  He was Past President of Hyndman Londonderry Lions Club, Board member Hyndman Londonderry Public Library, Hyndman VFW Oscar Jordan Post 7375; Hyndman Masonic Lodge 589 F&AM; Hyndman Senior Citizens. He volunteered at the Bedford County Humane Society and ran an annual wellness check and Rabies Clinic in Hyndman.

There will be no viewing.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.

Burial will take place at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA.
