Hyndman, PA – Earl C. Moore, 94, of Hyndman passed away Saturday March 11, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family.

Born April 20, 1922 in Neilington, PA; he was a son of the late Paul Sr. and Edith (Johnson) Moore. He was also preceded in death a step-son, Terry Lee Goddard; brothers, Paul Jr. Lloyd, Orville and Elmer Moore; sisters, Marcella Moore, Evelyn Robertson, Helen Emerick, Lottie Burley and Stella Shaffer. Earl was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Survived by his wife of 68 years, Dora E. (Harris) Moore, whom he married October 26, 1948; a son, Allen D. Moore and wife Ronda (Shaffer) of Hyndman, a daughter, Gwen M. Monahan and husband Gary of Frostburg; four grandchildren, Dena Weaverling, Autumn Avila, Terry and Shane Moore; 9 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Earl served in the US Army during WWII as a machine gunner. He worked at Speelmans Ice Cream for 16 years and then at Kelley Springfield Tire Company as a mold repairman. He was a member of the Hyndman Masonic Lodge 589 F&AM. Earl enjoyed hunting, fishing and watchmaking. He was a founder of the Moore Hunting Club as well as President of the Will Creek Sportsmen’s Club.

Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Inc., 169 Clarence Street, Hyndman on Wednesday March 15, 2017 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Masonic service will be conducted at 8:00 pm.

A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday March 16, 2017 at 1p.m. with Pastor John Klink officiating. Friends will be received one hour prior to the service.

Burial will follow at Palo Alto Hilltop Cemetery with Military Honors by the Ft. Bedford Honor Guard.

The family would like to thank, WMHS Hospice, Conemaugh Valley Hospice, care giver Pam Kelly and special friend and care giver Julie Platt for all help and care they provided.
