Obituary

Hyndman, PA – Earl Leroy Emerick, 85, of Hyndman passed away Wednesday August 29, 2018 at Frostburg Village.
Born May 27, 1933, in Corriganville, MD; he was a son of the late Norman and Helen (Emerick) Emerick. He was also preceded in death by a sister Helen Walls.
Survived by his wife of nearly 68 years, Ruth E. (Kennell) Emerick whom he married September 15, 1950; children, Leroy Emerick and wife Sharon of Hyndman, Joyce Thompson and husband Tim of Ellerslie, Calvin Emerick of Hyndman, Karen Kitis and husband John of Frostburg, grandchildren, Matthew Emerick and wife Joey, Timothy Emerick, Chrissy Knight and husband Gary, and Adam Kitis; great grandchildren, Lacey Getson, Mikenna Love, Kyley and Mallory Emerick, Samantha, Haely and Serenity Kitis; brother, Kenneth Emerick and wife Regina of Hyndman; sisters, Darlene Shroyer of Hyndman, Carolyn Flood and husband James of Gaithersburg, MD and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Emerick retired from Leydig Lumber. He had also worked at Delta Mining and Cumberland Concrete and several other places over the years. He was a member of Calvary Bible Church. He enjoyed cutting firewood, his Ford tractor and spending time with his family, especial his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Friends will be received Friday August 31, 2018 at the Calvary Bible Church, S. Gardner St. Ellerslie, MD from 5 to 8 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted at the church on Saturday September 1, 2018 at 10 a.m.
Burial will follow at Comps Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Calvary Bible Church.
