It is with heavy hearts, that we announce the passing of Edward H. Bockhouse, 74, on Sun Jun 5, 2022. He passed peacefully with his devoted daughter by his side.

Born July 12, 1947, in Cumberland; a son of the late Lottie and Rev. Charles Bockhouse Sr.

Ed, as he would rather be referred to as, had many great loves in life. Of those were: cars, botany (which would become his life’s calling), fishing, and studying the weather. Above all these, however, was his love for fellowship with family and friends. He had worked for the Manns Choice Sewer Authority for many years as head operator. He also was a janitor for the Bedford School District and a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Madley.

He was proceeded in death by his parents and beloved sister in law, Carolyn Bockhouse.

He is survived by his three children, Jesse Bockhouse and wife Tami, Aurora, CO; Matthew Bockhouse and wife April of Vandergrift; Erica Bockhouse of Manns Choice; three grandchildren, Ava and Zachary Bockhouse, Haley Groncki; three great grandchildren, Elias, Issabella, and Luca; a brother, Charles Bockhouse Jr. of Manns Choice; and two nieces, Jeanne Brumbaugh, Beth Manges and husband Lynn; and numerous cousins.

Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Inc., 169 Clarence Street, Hyndman on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

A memorial service will be held at later date.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the funeral home to help defer expenses.
