Obituary

Hyndman, PA – Eleanor Rae (Brown) Thomas, 84, of Hyndman passed away October 7, 2016 at WMHS Regional Medical Center
Born December 15, 1931 in Cumberland, MD; she was a daughter of the late George Edgar and Evelyn M. (Burkett) Brown. Also preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Margie Shaffer.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, James V. Thomas; whom she married December 22, 1950; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Burkhart of Perryville, OH, Sandra Crump of Corriganville; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Eleanor was a graduate of Hyndman High School and Catherman’s Business School. She had worked at Dean’s Business Service, Hygienic Sanitation and Workmeister Agency in Cumberland.
For many years she had been active member of the First United Methodist Church, Hyndman, having held various offices. She also volunteered at the Hyndman Londonderry Library.
Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Inc., 169 Clarence Street, Hyndman on Tuesday October 11, 2016 from 1 to 3 p.m. where a funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. with Ethel Stevanus officiating
Burial will follow at Hyndman Cemetery.
