Meyersdale, PA Elva L. Long, 92, of Meyersdale, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Friday, September 26, 2014, at her home.

Born May 28, 1922, in Southampton Twp., Somerset County; she was a daughter of the late Allen E. and Mayme (Smith) Troutman. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Leon Long; a brother, Robert Troutman; sisters, Gladys G. Korns, Phyllis Troutman and Doris Smith.

She is survived by a son, Robert Long and wife Faye of Hyndman; granddaughters, Carolyn Fender and husband David of Baltimore, MD and Christa Dailey and husband Shayne of Shrewsbury, PA; three great grandchildren, Gavin and Hannah Fender, and Zachary Dailey; two sisters, Mary Lee Bowman and Carol E. Troutman all of Meyersdale; two brothers, Harold E. Troutman and wife Ella Jean and John J. Troutman and wife Harriet both of Hyndman; and several nieces and nephews.

Elva was a graduate of Meyersdale High School. She retired from the Celanese Corp. in 1984 after many years of service. She was a member of Calvary Bible Church.

Friends will be received at Calvary Bible Church, Gardner St., Ellerslie, MD on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

A funeral service will be conducted at the Church on Tuesday at 11a.m. with Pastors Ken Korns, Greg Miller and Bob Robertson officiating.

Burial will follow at Cook’s Cemetery, Wellersburg, PA

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Cook’s Cemetery to help with the mowing expenses or Global Faith Mission Agency for Steve Trexler, PO Box 3326; Chattanooga, TN 37404.

A special thank you to the WMHS Hospice Nurses and Aides that helped care for Elva over the past 2 years.
