Hyndman, PA – Eva E. Sager, 94, of Hyndman, PA, went to be with the Lord Monday, October 19, 2020, at her home, surrounded by her family. She is finally reunited with her beloved husband, William Earl Sager, whom she married October 30th, 1945.
Born February 19, 1926, in Hyndman, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Sarah (Witt) Hosselrode. She had seven brothers and sisters and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was preceded in death by a stepson, Earl “Joe” Sager; a step-grandson, Rodney Sager; and a step-granddaughter, Vicki Sager.
She is survived by two daughters, LaVerne Blank and spouse, Leslie, of Hyndman, and Donna Sager, of Hyndman; a stepson, John Sager of Bedford; three grandchildren, Kevin Shroyer and spouse, George Booth, Jodi Casteel and spouse, Eric, and Ashley Sites and spouse, Greg; two great-grandchildren, Deneea Casteel and boyfriend, Chris Fairall, and Lyla Sites; and a special sister-in-law, who was like a sister, Virginia Hosselrode, of Hyndman
Eva was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Hyndman. She was president of the young adult class for many years. She worked at Kelly Springfield and the Celanese. She and her husband Earl owned and operated the Country Castle.
Eva spent endless hours with her husband, daughters, and grandchildren shopping, cooking, and attending softball and baseball games. She was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates fan. Eva loved life and cherished times spent on the farm with her family.
The family would like to thank Grane Hospice, especially Patty and Tammy D., for all of the care and assistance they provided. They would also like to thank Eva’s niece, Kelly, and great-granddaughter, Deneea, for being her special caregivers.
The family would also like to thank LaVerne, Donna, and son-in-law Les, for dedicating their lives over these last few years to caring for their Mother and making it possible that she could stay in her home and be happy and comfortable.
Their will be no viewing.
A graveside funeral service will be conducted at the Hyndman Cemetery on Thursday, October 22, 2020 at 2 p.m. with Pastor Ken Korns, officiating.
