Ellerslie, MD – Florence Norah “Jean” ‘Nan” Printy, 88, of Ellerslie, passed away at the Western Maryland Health System, on January 20, 2015 surrounded by her family.

She was born on June 3, 1926 in Gloucester, England; a daughter of the late Arthur “Dick” and Gladys (Shearman) Foote.   She met her late husband, Paul Eugene Printy, while he was stationed in England.  They were married and moved from England to Ellerslie in 1946 to start her family.   She is also preceded in death by brothers, Kenneth and Frederick Foote.

Florence is survived by her children, Marilyn Jewell of Ellerslie,  Kenneth Printy and wife Mary of Ellerslie,  Richard Printy and wife Michelle of Ellerslie, Teddy Printy and wife Jennie of Mechanicsburg, PA, Tammy Rohrer and husband Bob of Three Springs, PA; a brother, Arthur “Dick” Foote, England; 11 grandchildren, Kim George and husband Rusty of Sykesville, MD, Shandi Shaffer and husband Adam of Massilion, OH, Jeff Printy and wife Richelle of Frostburg,  Melissa Caporale and husband Dave of Cumberland,  Shawn Printy and wife Becky of Ellerslie, Danyelle Printy and fiancé Ronnie Lucas of LaVale,  Daniel Fisher and girlfriend Cassie Miller of Corriganville, Roslyn Malloy and husband Dan of Mechanicsburg, PA, Jessica Groves and husband Rob of Mechanicsburg, PA,  Brett Landis and girlfriend Stephanie Delawder of Hyndman, PA, Jesse Rohrer of Three Springs, PA; twenty great-grandchildren, and seven nieces and nephews.

She worked for the English Air Force and later for the English Postal Service as a mailwomen.  Jean was a member of the Ellerslie United Methodist Church.  She was a member of the Royal Air Force Association of England and the Ellerslie Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, serving as their Treasurer.  Her hometown recognized her as the Honorary Mayor and awarded her the Mayor’s Medal, upon her first visit back.  No matter if you called her as Florence, Jean or Nan she greeted you with a smile and a hug.  Her greatest love was her family.

Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Inc., 169 Clarence Street, Hyndman on Friday January 23, 2015 from 6 to 9 p.m.

A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 11 a.m. with Pastor John Klink officiating

Burial will follow at Porter Cemetery, Hyndman, PA with Russell George, Rusty George, Michael George, Jeff Printy, Shawn Printy and Brett Landis serving as pallbearers.  Honorary Pallbearers are Adam Shaffer, Dave Caporale, Daniel Fisher and Bob Royrer.

The family would like to thank the staff at Frostburg Village and WMHS for the care they gave Jean.
