Gareth Lynn Pass, 75, of Bedford, passed away on January 11, 2021, at Meadow View Nursing Center in Berlin, PA.

Gary was born on September 21, 1945, in Williamsport, PA, to the late Theodore and Jane (Mix) Pass. On June 10, 1967, he married Linda Degnan.

As the only child of a career Air Force Airman, he lived in many locations including France, but his favorite childhood memories were on a family farm. This love of animals led Gary to earn a degree in Wildlife Biology from the University of Massachusetts.  After graduation, he was commissioned as an officer in the United States Air Force working in Titan missile silos.  Following his time in the military, he began a career as a Special Agent for the Federal Bureau of Investigation from which he retired.

Gary loved to get a giggle from family, friends and strangers. When he could make someone smile, it made his day.  Though Alzheimer’s shrunk his world, he continued to make people laugh.  As his ability to communicate became limited, his love of music and Broadway show tunes allowed him to connect through song.

Gary believed and was truly transformed by his relationship with Jesus Christ.  He often joked that God would say that he wasn’t funny when he got to heaven.  But as Gary passed from this life into eternity, he was welcomed with love so encompassing and so full that there is now no space for doubt or anxiety in his heart.  Gary is restored, whole and in the presence of His Lord.

Gary is survived by twins, his son, Gregory Pass of Woodbridge, VA, wife, Devon, and their daughter, Alexis; and his daughter, Kimberly Donaldson of Buffalo Mills, husband, Todd, and their children, Timothy, Bailey, Abigail, Chloe and Quincy; and his former wife, Linda Halverson of Sun City West, AZ.

A veteran’s burial at a National Cemetery is planned for the future.

Memorial gifts may be made to New Life Bible Camp, 451 Tarwater Hollow Road, Buffalo Mills, PA 15534.
