Obituary

Hyndman, PA – Gary Lee Leydig Sr., 69, of Hyndman, passed away January 22, 2022 at UPMC Western Maryland ICU with his loving wife, son, and brother by his side
Gary was born February 2, 1952 in Hyndman; he was a son of Samuel Sr., and Barbara (Kiser) Leydig. He is preceded in death by his father Samuel Leydig Sr., and a brother, Samuel Leydig Jr.
Gary was a truck driver for 36 years.  He owned and operated S & G Leydig Trucking.  He was an avid Steeler’s fan, and enjoyed watching NASCAR races.  He loved his family and spending time with grandkids, nieces and nephews.  He served in the US Army and was a member of the Kennells Mill Sportsmen’s Club.
Gary is survived by his wife of 46 years, Barbara (O’Neal) Leydig; whom he married January 24, 1976; a son Gary L. Leydig Jr and wife Shannon of Fork Union, VA; grandchildren, Drew and Owen Leydig; mother, Barbara Leydig of Aylett, VA; brother, Kenneth Leydig of Port Orange, FL; Marie Carter and husband Robert of Stafford, VA, Arleen Leydig McGregor and husband Joe DiGeronimo of Crystal River, FL, Wendy Leydig of Aylett, VA; and was a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
