George E. Hutzell, 70, passed away January 16, 2018 at his home.

Born January 28, 1947 in Hyndman, PA; he was a son of the late Harry E. and Sarah E. (Clites) Hutzell. Also preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Kay (DuVall) Hutzell; brother-in-law, Tony Michaels and Eddie Wilhelm.

Survived by a son, Greg DuVall and wife Joanna of Ellerslie; grandchildren, Amanda and Nicholas DuVall; sisters, Viola Michaels, Ella Morgan and husband, Buddy all of Barrellville; Mary Priest, Ellerslie, MD; brothers, Harry Hutzell and wife, Pam, John L. Hutzell and wife, Cheryl all of Hyndman; and many nieces and nephews and a special brother-in-law, Jinx DuVall of Oldtown, MD.

George was a 1966 graduate of Hyndman High School. He served in the US Army during Vietnam. He retired from PennDot where he was truck driver and equipment operator for many years. George was a member of the Hyndman Londonderry Lions Club where he served as President; he was a life member of the Oscar Jordan VFW Post 7375, the Kennells Mill Sportsman’s Club, the Cumberland American Legion, and the Retired Public Employees of PA.

George loved his grandchildren and enjoyed attending their sporting events over the years. He also was an avid hunter and liked spending time at the Troutman Family Farm with his great nephews. He was dedicated to taking care of his wife Sandra’s flowers since her passing.

Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Inc., 169 Clarence Street, Hyndman on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. with a Lions Club service at 8 p.m.

A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday at 11a.m. with Rev. Terry Elliott officiating.

Burial will follow at Hyndman Cemetery with military honors by the Ft. Bedford Honor Guard.
