Hyndman, PA – Gerald Clyde Emerick, 81, of Hyndman went to be with the Lord Tuesday, January 1, 2019, at WMHS Regional Medical Center.
Born May 2, 1937, in Fairhope; he was a son of the late Merle and Goldie (Shroyer) Emerick. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Donald and John Emerick.
Survived by his wife of 61 years, Deloris (Mallow) Emerick, whom he married December 13, 1957; sons, Lorin Emerick and wife Patricia, Kris Emerick and wife Brigette all of Hyndman; grandchildren, Zach Emerick and wife Emily, Ernie Emerick, Bryce and Ethan Emerick, sisters-in-law, Grace Emerick of Hyndman and Martha Rorabaugh of New Port Ritchey, FL; special family friend, Robert Weyant and his family of Salisbury, MD; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Emerick was a member of Faith Community Church. He served in the US Navy and was a Seabee. He worked at Kelly Springfield Tire for 23 years and retired from Snyder’s of Berlin. He was a charter member of the Paw Paw Hollow Hunting Association.
Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Inc., 169 Clarence Street, Hyndman on Thursday, January 3, 2019, from 4 to 8 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted at the Faith Community Church, 287 Faith Church Rd., Hyndman on Friday January 4, 2019 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Terry Campbell officiating. Friends will be received one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be private at Rocky Gap Veterans Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hyndman Rescue Squad or Faith Community Church.
