Ellerslie, MD – Glenn E. Baker, 77, of Ellerslie went to be with the Lord on March 19, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family.

Born January 29, 1939 in Cumberland; he was a son of the late John and Geraldine (Ackerman) Baker; also preceded in death by a sister, Edna (Baker) Leasure ,and  son-in-law, David Burgess.

Survived by his wife of 57 years and love of his life, Leona (Willison) Baker, whom he married September 5, 1958; daughters, Linda Burgess of LaVale, Cathy Clayton and husband Stan of Cross Junction, VA, Faye Emerick and husband Carl of Ellerslie, Joanna DuVall and husband Greg of Ellerslie, Deborah Miller and fiancé Paul Hormuth of Ellerslie; grandchildren, David Glenn Burgess, Bristol Fazenbaker and husband John, Megan Michaels and fiancé Brandon Cobb, Chance Clayton, Tawney and Linzi Emerick, Amanda and Nicholas DuVall, Kiersten and Andrew Miller; great grandchildren, Paige, Dylan, Ian, Jaise Burgess; Tucker Fazenbaker; Jacob Cobb; a brother, Charles “Bumps” Baker of Fairhope, sister, Darlene Logsdon and husband Wayne of Ellerslie; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Glenn served in the US Air Force. He retired in 1996 from Pittsburgh Plate Glass. He had owned the Baker Service Center in Ellerslie form 1983 to 1994. He was a member of the Ellerslie United Methodist Church and the Ellerslie Outdoor Club. He was an avid model train collector. He enjoyed blue grass music and all the wonderful people he met at festivals. Glenn and Leona loved traveling in their motor home.

Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Inc., 169 Clarence Street, Hyndman on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with Pastors Roger Kitzmiller and Sandy Burchell officiating.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Schwab Family Cancer Center or WMHS Hospice.
