Barrelville, MD – Harold E. “Peck” Weimer, 81, of Barrelville, MD, passed away Sunday October 29, 2017 at his home.
Born June 7, 1936 in Barrelville, MD; he was a son of the late Irvin Milton and Bertha Grace (Kennell) Weimer. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Idella Clites; brothers, Irvin, Charles and Ken Weimer and a granddaughter, Toni Lease.
Survived by his wife of 60 years, Loie (Michaels) Weimer; whom he married October 26, 1957; daughters, Karen Sturtz and Richard, Kim Weimer and Joe, Kelly Padfield and Ed, Karrie Sturtz and Richard; grandchildren Heather Ross, Nicki Thompson, Justin Weimer, Amber Weimer, Nathan Padfield, Dilan Weimer and Dalton Sturtz; brothers, Bob, and Clyde Weimer of OH, Russ Weimer of Hyndman, Harvey Weimer of Winchester, VA; sisters, Nellie Emerick and Jean Lee both of Wellersburg, Betty Fink of LaVale, and Norma Swauger of Mt. Savage; eleven great grandchildren and a great-great granddaughter.
Peck worked in the Clay Mines and then at Mt. Savage Refractories retiring in 1989. He was a life member of the Barrelville Outdoor Club. His favorite thing to do was to spend time with his family, especially playing with and watching the little ones. He loved sitting outside and enjoying nature. He also watched NASCAR and country music videos. His new interests included his new fur baby additions, Sugar, Chase, R. Jay and Trixie.
Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Inc., 169 Clarence Street, Hyndman on Wednesday Nov. 1, 2017 from 3 to 7 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday November 2, 2017 at 11 a.m. with Pastor James Glass officiating.
Burial will follow at Comps Cemetery.
