Kennells Mill, PA – Harry E. Lewis, 87, of Kennells Mill, went to be with the Lord Sunday May 16, 2021 at Hearthstone Nursing and Rehab, Cumberland.

Born February 11, 1934 in Shaft, MD; he was a son of the late Edward T. Lewis Sr and Mary Alice (Hitchens) Lewis. He was also preceded in death by stepmother, Margaret Lewis, brothers, Edward Jr “Teddy”:, Charles “Chill” and George Lewis; sisters, Hazel Robinson, Wilda Emerick, and Catherine Blough.

Survived by his wife of 66 years, Betty (Poe) Lewis; daughter, Darlene Travis and husband Tim of Cumberland, half-brother, Ralph Lewis; half-sister, Sandy Minnick; sister-in-law, Helen Lewis; and many nieces and nephews.

Harry worked for Ford Motor Company for 43 year. He was a painter with St. George’s Ford, Gratton Ford, Kowell Ford and Shaffer Ford. He was one of the best automotive painters around and customers would request his work. He also worked for Leydig Trucking and Black Diamond Energy.  He was a member of Comps Church; life member of Kennells Mill Sportsmen’s Club, he loved to hunt and fish, and played softball on several local teams. He pitched horseshoes and was an avid Dale Earnhardt fan.

Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Inc., 169 Clarence Street, Hyndman on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home Thursday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Roger Huffman officiating. Visitation one hour prior.

Burial will follow at Comps Cemetery with Mark, John, Todd, and Lucas Miller, Steve and Stephen Leydig serving at pallbearers.
