Hyndman, PA – Harry E. “Mush” Kennell, 68, of Kennells Mill went to be with the Lord Friday October 14, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family.

Born September 24, 1948 in Hyndman; he was a son of the late Jesse and Alma (Boyer) Kennell. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Betty Cook.

Survived by his wife of 46 years, Ruth (Reese) Kennell, whom he married December 26, 1969; sons, Brian Kennell and wife Angie of Kennels Mill; April Bruck and husband Scott of Hyndman, Timothy Kennell and wife Tiffany of Hyndman; grandchildren, Jessica Kamp and husband Casey, Cheyenne, Dakota, Reese, and Kameron Kennell, Lucas and Courtney Bruck; brother, Raymond “Buck” Kennell and wife Mabel of Frostburg, Charles Teters and wife Leona of Corriganville, MD; Clyde Kennell of Kennells Mill;  sisters, Nancy Murray of Kennells Mill;  Anna Lee Neubiser of Wellersburg, Delores Reese and husband Robert of Kennells Mill, Jessie Spiker and Husband Ronnie, JoAnn Shaffer and husband Jeff both of Hyndman; sister and brother in laws,  Lu Kennell,  Judy and Clark Smith, John and Mary Reese, Bonnie Thompson, Luther reese jr and wife Joyce, Linda Blough and husband Nick, Kay Walls and husband Dave, Carol Huffman and husband Larry and many nieces and nephews.

Mush retired from Carl Belt, Local 616. After retirement he finished concrete for another 20 years. He was a member of the Kennels Mills Sportsmen’s Club where he was President for 25 years, also a member of the Barrellville and Piney Mountain Outdoor Clubs. He served in the US Army during Vietnam.

Mush was an avid hunter who loved to go hunting with his children and specially his grandchildren. He enjoyed working on the farm with his brother Clyde. He never met a stranger. To his family he was the rock that held everyone together. He loved having picnics with his family every holiday. Although he will be sadly missed, it gives us great comfort knowing he was saved and now is in the Lord’s hands.

Friends will be received at the Calvary Bible Church, 13901 Gardner Ave, Ellerslie, MD, on Monday, October 17, 2016 from 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.

A funeral service will be conducted at the church on Tuesday October 18, 2016 at 11 a.m. with Pastors Ken Korns and Greg Miller officiating.

Burial will follow at Comps Cemetery.

 In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Lungevity Foundation.
