On this day December 29,2023, Heaven gained another Angel. Irma Jean (Shaffer) Biller passed peacefully at home to join her sweetheart, Del, in Heaven.

Born on June 7, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Elizabeth (Lewis) Shaffer. Also preceded in death by a brother, Donald “Boo” Shaffer.

Irma Jean graduated from Hyndman High School and later attended Catherman’s Business School. She was a single mother who worked her hardest to raise her daughter. Her first job was in Washington DC using her learned skills from Business School. When she moved back to Hyndman she worked at a local grocery store. From there she went to Montgomery Ward in Cumberland, Md. When they closed, she was hired at Hoblitzel National Bank in Hyndman from which she retired.

Along the way she met a fellow and fell in love after 17 yrs. being single. On August 14,1976 she married Delmar Biller and thus a whirlwind of Ministry, travel, and friendships began. Irma loved everyone no matter what. She was a great mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and loyal friend.

Along with Deb (Divelbiss) Close and husband Jerry, she was gifted with, Brent Biller (Saundra), Karla Biller-Sparber (Andrew), and Kathy (Biller) Kennedy, 16 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, sister-in-law, Norma Shaffer; and many, many friends.

A special thanks from the Family to Virginia Emerick and Karen Hyson, special neighbor Annette Miller, Conemaugh Nurse Carolyn, and all the aides that took care of our Angel.

Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Ziegler funeral home, Inc. 169 Clarence Street, Hyndman on Tuesday January 2, 2024, from 11a.m. to 2 p.m. where a funeral service will follow at 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grace United Methodist Church, Hyndman or to the Hyndman Rescue Squad.
