Janet Rose Williams Phillips, 79, of Ellerslie went to be with the Lord Sunday July 30, 2023, at UPMC Western Maryland.

Born September 24, 1943, in Cumberland; she was a daughter of the late James V. and Grace O. (Hasselroth) Porter. She is also preceded in death by her first husband, Daniel F. Williams in 1980; and several half-brothers.

Survived by her husband, Keith W. Phillips Jr., sons, Mark Williams and wife Diane, Scott Williams and wife Lisa all of Ellerslie, stepchildren, April McClay and husband Harold III, Keith “Lenny” Phillips and Sara Smith all of Pittsburgh; grandchildren, Daniel F. Williams, Kayla Rose Arkins and husband Chris, Shane Ritter and wife Tiffany, Jesse Ritter and wife Elizabeth, Dylan Williams and fiancé Jordan Thompson, Connor and Jacob McClay; great grandchildren, Luke Arkins, Liam, Elle and Luke Ritter; and many nieces and nephews.

Janet was a 1961 graduate of Mt. Savage High School. She worked at Grants, then was the assistant Postmaster in Ellerslie and would cover the mail room in Cumberland. She was a dedicated member of Ellerslie United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir and was assistant treasurer. She was also a member of the United Methodist Women where she served as treasurer. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Cumberland and the Women for Christ. She volunteered at the Allegany County Museum. The family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to the physicians at UPMC Western Maryland, especially Dr. Jason Riley and Dr. Christine Sensabaugh, Linda Kraus from the Palliative Care Team, the nurses from 7 North and 7 South with a special thank you to Amanda and Linda.

Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Inc., 169 Clarence Street, Hyndman on Monday August 7, 2023, from 5 to 8 p.m.

A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday August 8, 2023, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Richard Jewell officiating.  Viewing one hour prior

Burial will follow at Porter Cemetery.
