Obituary

Hyndman, PA – Joanna D. Hiles, 86, of Hyndman went to be with the Lord Wednesday March 8, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family.

Born August 16, 1930 in Fair Oaks, PA; she was a daughter of the late Harry D. and Margaret E. (Warrick) Hilliard. She married Robert A. Hiles on June 8, 1949 in Frostburg, MD. He preceded her in death on April 20, 2010. Also preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah D. Hiles 2013; brothers, Gary, Dale and David Hilliard; sisters, Beaulah Kemp, Barbara Bassinger, and Glenda Fike.

Survived by a daughter, Carrie V. Holler and a son, Robert W. Hiles and both of Hyndman; a grandson, Levi J. Holler and wife Rebecca (Ours) of  Keyser, WV, sisters, Vanita “Elaine” Hachman of Confluence, Dorothy Patterson of TX, Harriet Sue Shaffer and husband Jack of Uniontown; a brother, George Hilliard of Genesee, PA; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Joanna was a member of Palo Alto United Methodist Church. She enjoyed being with family and friends and especially enjoyed sitting on the porch watching the deer in the field across the road. She was always cheerful and shared that happiness with those around her. She enjoyed riding the CART bus to Bedford and spending time with her friends at the Adult Day Services. She had a special friend “Candy” at Walmart that was quick to give her a hug each time she saw her.

Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Inc., 169 Clarence Street, Hyndman on Saturday from 6to 8 p.m.
Funeral service will be private.
