Buffalo Mills, PA – John Sherman Lehman, 102, of Buffalo Mills died Tuesday October 27, 2015 at the home of his son.

Born September 6, 1913 in Hyndman; he was a son of the late John Luman and Eva Pearl (Sherman) Lehman. He is preceded in death by his wife Geraldine (Miller) Lehman whom he married July 25, 1936; son, Vohn Lehman, grandson, Vohn Lehman Jr., ; granddaughter, Katrina Willis; sisters, Lillian Lehman, Vera Wills-Schmidt, Ilga Albritton, Lois Lehman, Vivian Malas, Twila Black, Gloria Kinton, Dale Shuck ; brothers Reuel “Jake”Lehman and Gerald Regis Lehman.

Survived by children, Robert Sherman Lehman and wife Carolyn Sue; Gary L. Lehman and wife Willa all of Buffalo Mills, Joan Carolyn Lehman of Altoona, and Janet Willis and husband Frederic of Buffalo Mills, a daughter-in-law, Barb Lehman of Hyndman, sisters, Faye May and Anna Waltman both of Everett; grandchildren, Cheri Heckman, Caroline Squair, Michael Lehman, Leslie Lehman, Rodney Lehman, Stacey Moyer, Jody Lehman, Jeffrey Maxwell, Marc Maxwell, Steven Benning, Brian Benning, Lisa Lambert, and Michael Willis; 19 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.

Mr. Lehman attended Hyndman High School, Class of 1933. He was a textile laborer at the Celanese Corp. He retired in 1975 after 45 ½ years of service. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Hyndman Senior Citizens, Hyndman-Londonderry Lions Club. He served on the school board and church counsel. He participated in the Young at Heart Games where he received over 100 medals. He also served in the US Navy during WWII.

Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Inc., 169 Clarence Street, Hyndman on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church.

A funeral service will be conducted at Christ Lutheran Church., 7319 Hyndman Rd., Buffalo Mills, PA on Saturday at 11 a.m. with The Rev. Ryan K. Viands officiating.

Burial will follow at Lybarger Cemetery, Buffalo Mills, PA.
