Hyndman, PA – Jonah S. Kindya, 16, of Hyndman died Sunday November 30, 2014.

 Born July 31, 1998 in Altoona, he was a son of Thomas and Susan (Bittner) Kindya. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Joseph and Catherine Bittner.

 He is survived by his mother, Susan Kindya of Hyndman; father, Thomas Kindya of Erie, a brother, Christopher Fisher of Gambrills, MD; a sister, Brianna Kindya of Hyndman; paternal grandparents, Thomas and Leah Kindya of Johnstown; uncle, Eric Bittner of Osterburg; aunt, Lisa Bittner of Claysburg; cousins, Samantha Tonya, Justin, Sarah and Michelle.

Jonah had attended Lighthouse Christian Academy. He was currently a Junior at Hope for Hyndman Charter School. He played baseball, wrestled, was a member of the band. Jonah attended Camp Cadet and FBLA, He was a Junior Fire Fighter with the Imler Fire Department. He enjoyed entering into reading competitions. He was working toward becoming an Eagle Scout and aspired to become a police officer.

He attended with his family the Wills Mountain Church of Christ.

A memorial service will be held at the Wills Mountain Church of Christ, 1370 Gooseberry Ave, Hyndman on Thursday at 5pm. with The Evangelist Chad Fatula officiating.

 In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the funeral home to help defer expenses for the family.
