Kenneth Paul Printy, 72, of Ellerslie, MD, passed away on February 13, 2022, just after sunrise surrounded by his family.

Ken was born April 7,1949, in Cumberland, MD, the son of the late Paul E. Printy and Florence J. (Foote) Printy.

Ken was a graduate of Mt. Savage High School where he ran track, graduating in 1967. He was then drafted to the US Army where he was assigned to Company A, 704th Maintenance Battalion, 4th Infantry Division. He served in the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged, April 1, 1975. After the war, he returned home to his job at Sears, working there for 36 years, first as an Auto Mechanic then as an Appliance Repairman. After retiring from Sears he joined his brother working as Carpenter with Printy Home Improvement for 20+ years.

Ken was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing and sharing that passion with his son and grandsons. He was also a stock car racing enthusiast which was something he shared with his wife, family, and friends. Over the years he was a pit crew member, building cars for Dave Hite Racing, Fadley Racing, and Dunmeyer Racing.

Ken was a family man, first and foremost. He was his grandchildren’s biggest fan, always in the stands cheering them on. He was at the grill for family reunions, picnics and always had a story to make you smile. Many knew that anytime they needed something fixed he was the man to visit. His motto that he shared with everyone was that “It’s No Big Deal” because no problem or situation couldn’t be repaired.

Ken is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Mary (Bittner) Printy, and the love of his life. His children, Jeffrey Printy and wife Richelle of Frostburg, Melissa Caporale and husband Dave of Cumberland; his grandchildren, Dylan Printy and friend Destiny Warnick, Jacob Printy, Michael Caporale, and Julia Caporale; his “like a son” Cameron Pressman and friend Stephanie; his siblings, Marilyn Jewell and late husband Glenn of Ellerslie, Richard Printy and wife Michelle of Ellerslie, Teddy Printy and wife Jenny of Mechanicsburg, PA, and Tammy Rohrer and husband Bob of Three Springs, PA; his special friends Pete, Slick and Dave, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Ken was a member of the Hyndman VFW Oscar Jordan Post 7375, Ellerslie Outdoor club, the Kennells Mills Sportsman Club, Hyndman Rod & Gun Club, Barrellsville Outdoor Club, Ellerslie Volunteer Firehall, along with many others throughout the years.

Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Inc., 169 Clarence Street, Hyndman on Thursday, February 17, 2022 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday, February 18, 2022 at 11a.m. with Pastor Caroline Penick, officiating. Viewing one hour prior to service.
