Kennells Mill, PA – Leroy M. “Boots” Deneen, 100, of Kennells Mill went to be with the Lord and Savior Monday July 3, 2023, at the home of his daughter.

Born November 11, 1922, in Hyndman; he was a son of the late Walter E. Sr. and Esther (Bare) Deneen. Also preceded in death by his wife, Annie P. (Emerick) Deneen; a son, Leroy K. Deneen; brothers, Leonard, Richard, Clarence, Bruce, Robert and Walter Deneen Jr.; sisters, Lois Smith and Anna Meyers.

Survived by a daughter, Pamela Hutzell and husband Harry of Kennells Mill; a granddaughter, Robin White and husband Charles; a great grandson, Robert White all of Frederick, MD; sister, Violet Shroyer of Lancaster, PA; many nieces and nephews; special friends, Dick Donelson and Wendy Sechler.

Served in the in the US Army Air Force during WWII where he met Queen Elizabeth when she was a Princess. He worked many places over the years including, in the coal mines, B&O Railroad, blacksmith shop, bridge construction and was a welder. He was a member of Comps Church, the Mason Dixon Lions Club where he was the Tail Twister. He enjoyed Bowling and was a member of many different leagues and also competed at Young at Heart.

Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Inc., 169 Clarence Street, Hyndman on Saturday July 8, 2023 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. where a service will follow at 12 p.m. with Pastor Roger Huffman officiating.

Burial will follow at Comps Cemetery will military honors by the Fort Bedford Honor Guard.
