Hyndman, PA – Lewis W. “Lew” Mowry, 74, of Hyndman passed away Saturday, April 11, 2015, at WMHS Regional Medical Center.

Born March 22, 1941, in Buffalo Mills, PA; he was a son of the late Glenn Lewis and Lucille Annebelle (Carpenter) Mowry. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Brenda M. Mowry.

Survived by a step-son, Marc Camp of Gastonia, NC; a brother, Vernon Mowry and wife Marian of Hyndman; sisters, Gretta May and husband Carl of Hyndman, Nancy Darrow of Cumberland; a special friend, Charlotte Shaffer of Hyndman; and many nieces and nephews.

Lew retired from the US Navy with 25 years of service. He was a Master Chief Petty Officer (E9). While in the Navy he taught Electronics. He received an Associate’s Degree from Penn State in Electro-Mechanics. He retired from Duke Energy in Charlotte, NC and then worked at Atlantic Group as an independent contractor.

Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Inc., 169 Clarence Street, Hyndman on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Fay Leydig officiating.

Burial will be at Madley Cemetery, Buffalo Mills, PA
