Obituary

Hyndman, PA – Louise Martz, 81, of Hyndman went to be with the Lord Saturday January 14, 2017 at Meyersdale Health and Rehab Center.
Born February 25, 1935 in Hyndman; she was a daughter of the late Winfield C. and Mary H. (McGregor) Thompson. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Althea “Pete” Rowley; brothers, Bill, Wayne and Glenn Thompson Sr.
Survived by her husband of 61 years, Dale E. Martz, whom she married September 24, 1955, sons, Brian Martz and wife Dawn of Hyndman, Todd Martz of Washington DC, and Chad Martz and wife Shannon of Cumberland; five grandchildren, Brianna, Whitney, Ellie, Rory, and Casey; two great grandchildren, Bronson and Callen. Also survived by sisters, Kate Varner of OH, Winnie Martz and husband Paul of Hyndman, Elaine Logsdon and husband Terry of Hyndman and Jean Kraizel of SC; a brother, Edward Thompson and wife Lana of Wellersburg, and many nieces and nephews, who thought of her as a grandmother.
Louise previously worked at Gee Bee’s, Ormonds and Burtons for many years and never met a stanger. Dale and her spent winters in Florida where they would work at K-Mart. She had a positive outlook and a strong family bond. She took good care of her family and extended family, enjoyed baking cookies, fudge, and getting together for the “Happenings”
Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Inc., 169 Clarence Street, Hyndman on Tuesday January 17, 2017 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday January 18, 2017 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Kenneth Haines officiating.
Burial will follow at Palo Alto Hilltop Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Palo Alto United Methodist Church.
