Buffalo Mills, PA – Mae E. Harclerode, 86 of Buffalo Mills passed away, Friday June 24, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family.

Born August 1, 1929 in Berlin; she was a daughter of the late Charles and Sarah (Ludy) Smith . She was also preceded in death by her husband in 2009, Ross Earl Harclerode; an infant son, Ross Earl Jr., a daughter, Mary Ohler; a granddaughter, Kaitlyn Jackie Gordon; a sister, Doris Harmon; and a brother, Ralph Smith.

Survived by two daughters, Shirley Jean married to Arthur Leister of Manns Choice, Sandra married to Robert Gordon of Buffalo Mills; a son, Robert J. Harclerode married to the former Doris Jean Lyons of Buffalo Mills; ten grandchildren, Timothy James Leister, Jeremy Alan Leister married to the former Justine Nee, Christopher Aaron Leister married to the former Jamie King, Cortney Beth Leister, Jerod Robert Gordon, Travis Lee Bohn, Zachary Ryan Ohler, Robert James Harclerode II, Kristen Alyse Harclerode, Jenna Mae Harclerode; four great grandchildren, Jillian Michelle Leister, Elizabeth Grace Leister, Emma Bohn and Travis Bohn Jr.

She worked on the family farm.  Retired from Meadowview Nursing Home with over 20 years of service. She was a member of the St. Mark’s Church of Christ. She enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking large family meals and baking her famous oatmeal pies. Her home was always lively with close friends and lots of good music. She had a great sense of humor, enjoyed traveling and loved to hunt deer. She got one every year. She was a loving mother, grandmother who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Inc., 169 Clarence Street, Hyndman on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Wednesday one hour prior to the service.

A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. Merle Correll officiating.

Burial will follow at Schellsburg Cemetery, Schellsburg, PA.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Schellsburg United Church of Christ.
