Hyndman, PA – Marian D. Mowry, 77, of Hyndman passed away Tuesday September 29, 2020 at her home.

Born December 3, 1942 in Barrellville, MD; she was a daughter of the late Leo S. Sr. and Olive G. (Gordon) Bridges. She was also preceded in death by an infant brother, Leo Bridges Jr.

Survived by her husband of 56 years, Vernon W. Mowry Sr., whom she married December 28, 1963; children, Glenda Salonish and husband Andrew of Ridgeley, WV, Brenda Cessna and husband Timothy of Keyser, WV, Vernon Mowry Jr. “Wally” and wife Ann of Hyndman, Lewis Mowry of Hyndman, grandchildren, Keri Davis and husband Matthew, Kristi Salonish, Edward Martz Jr., Randy Martz, Colten, Ryan and Lindsay Mowry; two great grandchildren, Paetyn and Mason Davis; sisters, Alice Bryant, Virginia Imler, Teresa Emerick, Joyce Reese and husband Luther all  of Hyndman, brothers, Jacob Bridges and wife Rebecca of Cumberland Furnace, TN, Jerry Bridges and wife Dena of Cumberland, William Bridges of Hyndman; many nieces, nephews and her beloved dog, Oreo.

Marian was a graduate of Mt. Savage High School. She attended Cooks Mill United Methodist Church. She worked at the Stringtown Amoco Gas Station that she and her husband owned and operated; she also worked at Wendy’s and Pizza Hut. Marian was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler and Pirates fan. She also enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s sporting events.

Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Inc., 169 Clarence Street, Hyndman on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Caleb Shaffer officiating.

Burial will follow at Comps Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Hyndman Volunteer Fire Department.
