Hyndman, PA – Mary E. (Franks) Burkett, 77, Hyndman, passed away October 12, 2022 at UPMC Western Maryland.

Born July 12, 1945 in Connellsville; she was a daughter of the late Ray Breakiron and Regina Yeagley Franks. Also preceded in death by husband, Donald Leroy Burkett; stepfathers, Melvin Albright and Joe Franks, sister, Betty May.

Survived by children, Donald L. Burkett Jr. and wife Shirley of Culpeper, VA; William Burkett of Hyndman; Diana Crapo and husband Michael Sr. of Brentwood, MD; 17 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; and the first great great grandchild expected soon, special family friend, Lynn Shoemaker, her dog Pup Pup and 9 cats.

Mary was the Traffic Director for Prince George’s County Police Department. She was a member of Central Christian Church. She loved spending time with family and friends.

Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Inc., 169 Clarence Street, Hyndman on Friday October 14, 2022 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday October 15, 2022  at 11 a.m. with Pastor Terry Elliott officiating.

 Burial will follow at Hyndman Cemetery.
