Hyndman, PA – Mary Jane Grace, 81, of Hyndman went to be with the Lord Monday March 23, 2020 at UPMC Western Maryland after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born May 1, 1938 in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Helen (Rowe) Logsdon. She was also preceded in death by husband Floyd P.”Mike” Grace on April 14, 1980.
Mary Jane was a graduate of Allegany High School and a member of Cooks Mills Methodist Church for over 60 years, serving for over 30 years as the pianist. While she was employed and retired from the dietary department at Sacred Heart Hospital, her primary focus in life was taking care of her family. She was a devoted mother and kind soul with a deep faith, caring for many others with total dedication during her life. She was a prolific hand-crafter making many beautiful and funny, but always useful, items for family and friends.
She is survived by a son, James Nugen-Grace and husband Paul of Cumberland, daughters, Debra Weisenmiller and husband Andrew of Cumberland, Karen Gaumer and husband James of Phoenix, AZ; brothers, Thomas Logsdon Jr, Cumberland, James Logsdon of Corriganville; grandchildren: Michael Baker, Rachel Gaumer, Devan Stalhman and husband Casey, Stephan Weisenmiller and wife Abby, Grace Weisenmiller and partner Brandon Wolfe and Caleb Gaumer serving his country in South Korea. She was blessed with 6 great grandchildren.
Services will be a private, graveside service per the request of the family. Interment will be at Hyndman Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the Schwab Cancer Center, Dr. Zaman, and particularly the nursing staff of 5 North UPMC Western Maryland for their kind and compassionate care during her final days. They are truly angels on Earth. Memorial contributions may be made to the Schwab Cancer Center.
