Hyndman, PA – Peggy L. Clites, 92, of Hyndman went to be with the Lord, Friday January 19, 2024 at Colonial Courtyard.

Born February 1, 1931, in Ellerslie, MD; she was a daughter of the late Edward and Alverta (Stuby) Madden. She is also preceded in death by her husband Clifton E. Clites Sr., brother, Edward Madden; sister, Mary Ann Frankenberry.

Survived by children, John Clites and wife, Cathy of Buffalo Mills, Janie Sams and husband, Darl of Bedford, Susie Lotz and husband, Bill of Bedford, Cliff Clites Jr. and wife, Christy of Everett; sisters, Eileen Jamison of Hyndman, Lois Kreigline and husband, Bobby of Fort Loudon; 9 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

Peggy attended Grace United Methodist Church, she was a bookkeeper, homemaker and caregiver. She worked for the Cutright Shoe Store and Clites Coal Company. She enjoyed Bowling in a league and volunteered at the red cross and read to the children at the elementary school. Her family will remember her as an awesome mother and “meme”.

Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Inc., 169 Clarence Street, Hyndman on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Rod Spiker, officiating.  Viewing one hour prior.

Burial will follow at Hyndman Cemetery.

The family gives special thanks to Bedford Skilled Nursing and Rehab, UPMC Family Hospice, and the entire staff at Colonial Courtyard, Bedford, PA.

In lieu of flowers donation may be made to the Hyndman Food Bank, Hyndman Rescue Squad, or Grace United Methodist Church in Hyndman.
