Obituary

Wellersburg, PA – Phyllis I. McKenzie, 94, of Wellersburg went to be with the Lord on Sunday July 24, 2016 at Frostburg Nursing and Rehab.
Born February 15, 1922 in Philson, PA; she was a daughter of the late Charles Theodore and Jennie Mae (Kennell) Weimer. She was also preceded in death by her husband in 1991, Albert J. McKenzie; a sister, Gladys Powers, and son-in-law, David Shumaker Sr.
Survived by children, Charles McKenzie and wife Diane of Ellerslie, Sandra Shumaker of Wellersburg, grandchildren, Vicky Glass and husband Rick of Wellersburg, David Shumaker Jr and wife Paula of Imler, six great grandchildren, Kayla and Ryan Diehl, Laken and McKenzie Glass, Rachel and Tasha Shumaker; and a sister, Violet Shockey of Wellersburg.
Mrs. McKenzie attended Comps Church. She volunteered at the Wellersburg Fire Hall for many years. She enjoyed ceramic and picture puzzles.
Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Inc., 169 Clarence Street, Hyndman on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home Thursday at 11 am with Pastor Roger Huffman officiating.
Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Lutheran Church Cemetery, Meyersdale, PA.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Comps Church.
