Hyndman, PA – Rita L. Leap, 87, of Hyndman went to be with the Lord Thursday April 5, 2018 at Donahoe Manor.

Born February 21, 1931, in Hyndman; she was a daughter of the late Delos and Tolva (May) Shaffer. Also preceded in death by husband, Earl J. “Sonny” Leap Jr.; son, Gary Leap; grandson Troy Leap; sister, Rose Fochtman; brother, Gary Shaffer.

Survived by sons, John Leap and wife Cathy of Buffalo Mills, Baron Leap and wife Patty of Hyndman, H. Shawn Leap and wife Crystal of Barton, MD; daughter-in-law, Cindy Leap Yoder and husband Dick of Hyndman; grandchildren, Tara Leap, Travis Leap and wife Caroline, Tyler Leap and wife Megan, Dawn Marie Bonella, Kendra Bonella and husband Ryan Reichert and Rebecca Yoder Darr; 3 great grandchildren, Harrison, Henry and Vivian; sisters, Joan Coughenour and husband Ray, and Alice Ringler and husband Allen, all of Hyndman; and many nieces and nephews.

Rita worked at Sears for over 20 years. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church Hyndman. She enjoyed working with her husband Sonny in his mechanic and auto parts business and raising four fine young men.

Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Inc., 169 Clarence Street, Hyndman on Sunday from 3 to 4 pm where a memorial service will be held at 4 pm with Pastor Fred Zickefoose and Rev. Dr. Tomislav Dosch officiating.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made Grace United Methodist Church or the Hyndman Area Rescue Squad.
