Hyndman, PA – Roger Wayne Shaffer, 67, of Hyndman, a devoted husband, father, brother, and uncle went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 30, 2023.

Born February 8, 1955, in Chambersburg; he was a son of the late Wayne A. Shaffer(Bedford) and June E. (Emerick) Shaffer(Hyndman). He was also preceded in death by a stepsister.

Survived by his wife of 46 years, Cyndi (Minnick) Shaffer of Hyndman; children, Pastor Caleb Shaffer and wife Elizabeth of Ellerslie, Becca Shaffer of Hyndman; sisters, Rena Litten (Fred), Rhonda Sites (Greg), sister-in-law, Verna Burkett (Jeff Dermer), all of Hyndman; brother-in-law, Richard “Rick” Minnick (Jan), Centerville; an uncle, two aunts, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins whom he loved dearly; a stepmother and stepbrother.

Roger was a 1973 graduate of Hyndman High School. He had worked at the Kelly Springfield Tire Company, Central Assembly of God Church for almost 30 years and most recently was a part-time driver for Hope for Hyndman Charter School.

Roger claimed Jesus as his Savior and was a friend to all. He had a great sense of humor always telling old stories about his family. He spent his free-time hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed going to auctions, thrift shops, and yard sales.

Roger was especially proud of his children, they were his life.

Friends will be received at the Tri-State Ministry Center, 232 Hyndman Road, Hyndman, on Monday, February 6, 2023 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m.

A funeral service will be conducted at the Tri-State Ministry Center on Tuesday February 7, 2023, at 11 a.m. with Pastors Stevie Leydig, Kathy Emerick, Rebecca Rust, and Caleb Shaffer officiating. Viewing one hour prior to the service.

Burial will follow at Palo Alto Hilltop Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Tri-State Ministry Center or Hyndman Charter School.
