Wellersburg, PA – Russell L. Weimer Sr., 88, of Wellersburg, passed away Wednesday August 2, 2023 at his home.

Born November 26, 1934 in Southampton Township, Somerset county PA; he was a son of the late, Irvin M. and Bertha G. (Kennell) Weimer. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Charles, Irvin, Ken, Bob, and Harold Weimer; sisters, Idella Clites and Nellie Emerick.

Survived by his wife of 56 years, Paulette (Bridges) Weimer; a son Russell L. Weimer Jr and wife Cassie; a granddaughter, Hailey Weimer all of Oregon; brothers, Clyde Weimer of Geneva, OH, Harvey Weimer and wife Linda of Berryville, VA; sisters, Jean Lee and husband Roy of Ellerslie, Betty Fink and husband Don of LaVale, Norma Swauger and husband Kenny of Mt. Savage; numerous nieces and nephews.

Russell enlisted in the US Marine Corps from 1955 through 1963. He worked as a sheet metal worker in VA. He retired from the Pentagon in 1997 where he worked as a plumber and pipefitter.

He was a member of the American Legion, loyal Order of Moose, a life member both the Kennells Mill Sportsmen’s Club and Barrelville Outdoor Club.

Per his wishes he will be cremated with no viewing.
