Obituary

Ellerslie, MD – Sara L. Sides, 98, of Ellerslie died peacefully Friday April 10, 2020 at the home of her daughter.
Born September 16, 1921 in Ellerslie; she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Mary (Mull) Leydig. She was preceded in death by her husband, John A. Sides, whom she married June 17, 1943; son-in-law, Billy Kennell, brother, Carl H. Leydig, sister, Anna Lee See.
 Survived by a son,  Samuel A. “Sam” Sides and wife Jackie Levernier of Libertyville, IL; a daughter, Mary Ellen Kennell of Ellerslie; grandchildren, Jason Kennell and girlfriend Jen Coates of Ellerslie, Jeremy Kennell and wife Kara of LaVale; Mary Beth Kennell of Ellerslie; Rebecca Levernier; three greatgrandchildren, Ryan, Alex, and Carter; sister, Faye See and husband Fred of Staunton, VA; sisters-in-law, Pauline Sides of Hyndman, Faye Clites of Akron, OH and many nieces and nephews.
Sara worked at Hoblitzell National Bank, Ellerslie. She was a member of Redeemer United Church of Christ; Daughters of the Nile, and Order of Eastern Star Cumberland Chapter 56.
Her family would like to thank the sitters and Hospice Services for the exceptional care she was given.
Due to the current Covid-19 Pandemic the family will conduct the funeral service privately.
Burial will be at Madley Cemetery, Buffalo Mills, PA.
