Obituary

ELLERSLIE — Selma Helene (Pfitzenmayer) Lowery, 89, of Ellerslie, died Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2019, at home with her daughters by her side.
Born Dec. 26, 1929, in Cumberland, she was a daughter of the late Gilbert and Helene (Jeffreys) Pfitzenmayer. Also preceded in death by her husband, Millard E. Lowery in 1997; a sister, Doris Stuby; brothers, George and Charles Pfitzenmayer.
Survived by her two daughters, Debbie Albright and husband, Gary, of Ellerslie, Connie Lowery and fiancé, Mark Manges, of Cresaptown; a son, Rod Lowery and wife, Denise, of Hyndman, Pa.; a sister, JoAnn Lowery of Ellerslie, who she loved dearly; and a brother, Ed Pfitzenmayer of Oldtown; seven grandchildren, Ginger Ward husband, Shayne, John Albright and wife, Kim, Blaine Bridges and wife, Brooke, Eric White, Adam White and wife, DeAnna, Jess Wilson and husband, Mark, and Jenna White; 12 great-grandchildren, Tallon, Bailey, Jacob, Maddy, Zane, Austin, Joelyn, Lilly, Andie, Aidan, Kole, Maddox, and one more on the way. Also several nieces and nephews.
She was a 1947 graduate of Allegany High. Mrs. Lowery was a homemaker and had worked at Cumberland blouse factory. She was Methodist by faith. She was an avid QVC queen, enjoyed watching soap operas and her favorite show The Golden Girls, puzzle books and playing the lottery. Everyone who has known Selma has been. Blessed beyond measure. Her love and devotion to her family was never ending.
Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Inc., 169 Clarence Street, Hyndman, on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday at 11 a.m.
Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens in LaVale.
