Hyndman, PA – Stanley V. Shaffer, 67, of Hyndman went to be with the Lord Sunday June 11, 2017 at UPMC Altoona.

Born July 30, 1949 in Cumberland; he was a son of Edgar J. and Mary E. Shaffer. He was preceded in death by his mother, and a daughter, Carol J. (Shaffer) Lafferty.

Survived by his father of Hyndman; his wife of 49 years, Beverly (Kennell) Shaffer; a daughter, Karen Ringler and husband Steven of Hyndman; grandchildren Jenna Stiffler and husband Kyle; Jesse Ringler, Devin and Uriah Lafferty; a great grandson, Henry Stiffler; brothers, Lawrence and Stuart Shaffer and many nieces and nephews.

Stanley drove truck since the age of 16. Over the years he worked for Edgar Shaffer Trucking, R&M Trucking, D&R Trucking, Donald B. Rice, Stuart Shaffer Trucking and he was also self-employed. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. He enjoyed gardening, classic cars and spending time with his family.

Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Inc., 169 Clarence Street, Hyndman on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Lance Tucker officiating.

Burial will follow at Hyndman Cemetery
