Thelma J. Hillegass, 75, of Schellsburg passed away Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at her home.

Born July 31, 1948, in Fairhope, PA; she was a daughter of the late James and Edna (Emerick) Leister. She is also preceded in death by brothers, Jacob, Fred, Elwood and Ernest Leister; sisters, Marybell Kline, Helen Tomlinson, Hazel Tomlinson, and Dottie Leister.

Survived by her husband of 54 years, Henry Hillegass; children, Bradley Hillegass and wife Marcie of Schellsburg, Brandin Hillegass and wife Tracey of Schellsburg, Bethany Foy and husband William of Murfreesboro, TN, Britany Hillegass of Schellsburg; seven grandchildren, JP Hillegass and wife Miho, Austin Hillegass, Colby Hillegass, Taylar Hillegass, Tiffany Hillegass, Isabella Foy and Grayson Foy; one great grandson, Milo Hillegass; brothers, Ralph Leister of Glencoe, Roy Leister of Dover AR, Stanley Leister of Glencoe, sisters, Delores Kline of Waynesboro , Kay Diehl of Bedford; many nieces and nephews.

Thelma drove school bus for Chestnut Ridge School District for 15 years. She was a meticulous homemaker. She was a member of the Manns Choice Church of God. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and attending their activities. She was their number one fan. She also enjoyed gardening and her flowers.

Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Inc., 169 Clarence Street, Hyndman Friday August 25, 2023, from 5 to 8 p.m.

A funeral service will be conducted at the Manns Choice Church of God, 6150 Allegheny Rd, Manns Choice, Saturday August 26, 2023, at 11 a.m. with Pastors Aaron Whetstone and Dan Leister officiating. Viewing one hour prior.

Burial will follow at Schellsburg Cemetery.
