Hyndman, PA – Vickie L. Shaffer, 69, of Hyndman passed away Thursday March 21, 2024, at UPMC Western Maryland, surrounded by her family.
Born April 7, 1954, in Everett; she was a daughter of the late Carl and Mary Louise (Holler) Turner. Also preceded in death by brothers-in-law, John, Bob, Stephen, Earl, Douglas, and Jitter Shaffer; sisters-in-law, Betty Ours, Peggy Atwood and Joyce Pensyl.
Survived by her husband of 50 years, Pug Shaffer; children, Carey Schilling and husband Brad of Central City, Brett Shaffer and wife Amberly of Hyndman; grandchildren, Bruck Ohler, Adalyn Shaffer, Easton Schilling and Dahlia Schilling; sisters, Linda Carpenter and husband Gary of Buffalo Mills, Jean Rice and husband Larry of Schellsburg; brothers-in-law, Dick Shaffer of Hyndman and Stanley Pensyl of Hyndman. Sisters-in-law, Wanda Bistline and husband, Les, Hyndman, Marce Johnston and husband, Jim, of Dunn, North Carolina, Charlotte Shaffer of Lewisburg, Lana Shaffer of Mt. Joy, Audrey Shaffer of Elizabethtown, Linda Shaffer of Hyndman, 111 loving nieces and nephews, and lifelong best friend, Vanessa Shaffer of Glades Pike.
Vickie attended First Ave United Methodist Church, Hyndman. She had worked at B and N Pools, Little Caesars Pizza, and the Volkswagen Dealership in Cumberland. She volunteered at the Hyndman Charter School and her church.
Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Inc., 169 Clarence Street, Hyndman on Monday March 25, 2024 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted at First Ave United Methodist Church, 183 First Ave, Hyndman on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at 11 a.m. with Pastors Derek Platt and David Klink officiating. Viewing one hour prior to service.
Burial will follow at Hyndman Cemetery.
